Meet Our Night Watchman
How does a farmer sleep when night-time temps drop into the teens and there’s a greenhouse full of young, vulnerable plants? Not great. But our “night watchman” helps. Seen here- a thermostat that turns on a bulb to light up the greenhouse if temps drop too low. This means Ken only has to wake up and look out the window every 2 hours to make sure the light hasn’t turned on (versus throwing on boots and a jacket and heading up to check in person in the middle of the night). The choppy sleep schedule is a bit like caring for a newborn but it’s a lot better than having to step outside through the night.
